Founder of Eagle is credited to Thomas Hugh Aikens, a Nova Scotian surveyor in 1904. That same year, a small group of people, in a newly organized high school, held a vote on the township name. The name “Eagle” was proffered by Thomas Aiken’s daughter and the township was officially accepted and named!
